An impromptu Chinese New Year Celebration and photo shoot. We were too sick to go to our local CNY celebration, so the Captain picked up Chinese food (four orders of dumplings - we really need to learn how to make these ourselves!!) and we had a feast at home. So Mr. A could crash on the couch in between bites (fever 101F), and Missy could go to bed early (migraine). Mr. D and Little Miss felt fine - as I'm sure you can tell from the photos. Mr. T - our sports fanatic - got to go to a SuperBowl Party. Go Red Sox ;-)

Love the pics!! Loved the phone call even more. <3
ReplyDeleteWow, what a crew you have. All over the place, lol! T still gone? Less than 10 minutes of the game left - not sure how long it'll take - 30 mins?
Happy Chinese New Year, couple days late!
Love the new look!!!
Aaawwww. Thanks for sharing. So so cute.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful!! May I ask where the dress is from? I keep saying I'm going to make some, but have yet to do it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had agreat fun. We live a ways from Chinese food places so I tried my hand at making dumplings the other night- they turned out ok!
ReplyDeleteBook is on it's way- we haven't had internet for several days so I am way behind borrowing someone else tonight:)
Blessings,
gayly
Saina, the Captain is leaving right now to pick up T. I think the others are asleep already, lol.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rebecca!
One Acre Follies, I found the dress last year online, I'm pretty sure it's from April Cornell. Missy has a matching one, but didn't feel like dressing up today. I think we'll do another photoshoot sometime with the two of them in broad daylight. I hope Callie feels better soon!
Thank you so much, quilt-n-mama! I'll let you know when the book comes.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get your internet back soon (what a pain)!
We have a great Chinese place nearby, but it's soooo expensive, especially now that my tween boys eat more than us adults!! I definitely want to try making the dumplings ourselves.
Beautiful photos! Your daughter is adorable in her CNY photoshoot.
ReplyDeleteAn impromptu CNY celebration is just as good as a big party in my book!
ReplyDeleteAnd our second go at the dumplings this weekend were much better. Two major improvements? Used 80/20 blend ground pork and chopped the veggie part of the filling in the food processor!
give them a try!
Hope everyone is feeling better soon.
Thank you, Monica! We think so too :)
ReplyDeleteOoh, that sounds good, Kristi! Can't wait to get over our colds and try making them!
I totally agree... bring on the Red Sox! Your little girl is very sweet! Great pictures!

ReplyDeleteO F F, I wouldn't have even known about the SuperBowl unless my son had been invited to a party. We are so non-sporty it's embarrassing!!
ReplyDeleteEllen, thank you so much!! My first award!
