A Trip to Dallas

A beautiful spring day at Dallas Arboretum.

Pictures mine, except for the three hotel photos from their website.

The Captain and I took a trip to Dallas last week, which was a perfect mix of work and fun. My first time in Texas! One of our highlights was walking around the Dallas Arboretum, but really, going anywhere with your husband (and when homeschooling - without kids) is definitely a treat. Not having to do cooking and housework is great, too:)

Our kids spent the week with Grandma, Grandpa, aunt & uncle, cousins, and Nanny, working on homeschooling, yard work, and going on hikes, walks and picnic. (I love how my students didn't fall behind on school while teacher was gone, and how I was able to keep up with their Monarch homeschool lessons and grading assignments from Dallas!)

We are now back in Northern Maine, all cozy in our little cabin - watching the ice melt. Stay tuned for pictures of the lake!

  1. OH, a weekend away....with your husband! What a blessing! Those flowers are gorgeous! I have heard good things about Monarch, what is your favorite thing about using it?

  2. Thank you, Rebecca! My favorite thing about Monarch is how I can buy a fantastic curriculum - I don't need to put a curriculum & lessons together. It is easy to grade and manage. My kids like to study independently, and to do so on their computers. Since we travel a lot, it is nice we don't need to bring a ton of school books with us.

  3. You took very good "one handed" pictures. :) It definitely makes me want to go there. :)

  4. Lol, Meredith!! Yes, taking pics one handed was challenging, but where there's a will... :)

  5. I went to college in Dallas and lived there for seven years - in that time I attended two weddings at the Arboretum -- it is a beautiful place. I'm glad you enjoyed your time away!!

  7. Mary, that is so neat! We saw at least two wedding rehearsals and one couple getting their photos taken - maybe engagement pics?

Allu, puutarha oikeasti oli noin kaunis<3
