The First Days of Spring/Kevään ensimmäiset päivät

Since it was getting kind of muddy in our neck of the woods, we decided to celebrate the First Day of Spring by driving North for the weekend where there still was plenty of snow. Nothing like being in denial.... ;-)

The sun was so warm and there was no wind, so the boys had a great time sledding.

The lake was all ice and it make it fun to slide slide slide....

My three happy boys!

They welcomed Mama and her camera, and included Little Miss in their adventures.
(I love that about my boys!!! Little Miss is one of the guys here :)

No diving allowed, but how about some extreme sledding???

As Mr. D was still thinking about this drop, Little Miss helped him along, tee hee...

And fast and far he goes.....!!!!

How about this run?? As Mr. D advised Little Miss: "Just close your eyes and you don't get hurt!" I was doubled over in laughter, and he had to explain it to me: "Mom, there were branches in the way, and by closing your eyes they didn't hurt your eyes!" Ok ok, I get it, but I think we need goggles and helmets for sledding these days!!

And today? We are home, it is snowing, and we should be getting three to six inches of snow today. I think we brought the winter back {ducking all the snowballs hurled this way :}

I am linking this post to Sunday Snapshot at Ni Hao Ya'll (thanks, Stefanie, for hosting this fun blog hop), and also to Hip Homeschool Hop. Make sure to check out both sites for more blog posts!

    Jessy, I have really enjoyed your blog as we are planning to spend more time in Maine this year. I may need to pick your brain (& resources) on homeschooling there :)

  9. How fun. You know, I have never in all my life experienced a lake frozen over enough to walk on...
    Guess that's why on the first day of spring we were wearing shorts and walking barefoot this year.
    Glad you enjoyed some last snow!
